Museum of FIRE
Today we travel from the Central Coast through Richmond, stopping for morning tea, and onto Penrith.![]() Our tour of the Museum of Fire explores the fascinating history of Fire Fighting of the past and the impact of fire in the home and environment.
With engines dating from the early 1800’s to the modern day, the Museum of Fire houses Australia’s largest collection of fire-fighting vehicles and memorabilia. A world class collection, the Museum is a monument to the heroic and selfless dedication of firefighters and the role they play in serving the community today.
Located in the old Power Station, which was constructed in 1952 and is an excellent example of the industrial architecture of the time.
Displays of more than 30 hand drawn, horse drawn and motorized vehicles, other vintage fire fighting equipment, simulations of the aftermath of a house fire, displays on home safety, burns and emergency services.
Lunch will be at the Peach Tree Inn.
After lunch a chance to visit Blue Mountains Honey.
